274 E. 1st Ave. is a 155-unit, mixed-use residential infill project located in a historic urban neighborhood of Columbus. The project sits on the former site of several massive turn-of-the-century manufacturing buildings that were home to the historic Jeffrey Mining Company. The architecture makes a modern reference to the site’s manufacturing past with its large-scale silver metal-clad industrial shed forms interrupted with color contrasting inset bays and voids opening to the site’s interior. A tenant entry, public café, lounge/co-working space and social roof deck punctuate the building’s corner.
